Trea Turner has excellent Spring Training debut for Phillies

Trea Turner looked the part of an elite leadoff hitter in his first Grapefruit League appearance as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies.

The 29-year-old singled, stole a base and scored a run in the top of the first, as the Phillies took an early lead over the Minnesota Twins:

In total, Turner went 2-for-3 with two singles during his first Spring Training action with the Phillies.

Turner, Kyle Schwarber and J.T. Realmuto — who hit in the top three spots in the lineup Sunday — won’t see a ton of action for the Phillies during Grapefruit League play, as they’ll soon leave to represent Team USA during the World Baseball Classic.
