Phillies Nation Podcast: Is Alec Bohm primed for an All-Star year? with Tim Kelly

Alec Bohm has homered thrice this spring. (Cheryl Pursell)

Those who entered Spring Training bearish on Alec Bohm might be reconsidering.

Bohm’s hot start to the spring seemingly has the Phillies’ third baseman primed for a breakout 2023. It is, however, Spring Training — is it enough to buy in?

Tim Kelly and Nathan Ackerman discuss the positive signs Bohm is flashing early on, his potential for a breakout campaign in 2023 and his odds of earning an All-Star nod. They also discuss what a potential Bohm breakout might mean for Rhys Hoskins’ future.

The two also get into Andrew Painter and the lack of clarity regarding his elbow coming out of Clearwater, where Tim spent the past few days as the news (and unanswered questions) about Painter’s elbow issue emerged.

Finally, they touch on the third installment of Tim’s Opening Day lineup projection, as well as Nathan’s thought experiment on Bohm and Nick Castellanos.
