For the ninth time in his career, Craig Kimbrel has been selected to play in the All-Star Game.

He will replace Milwaukee’s Devin Williams on the National League All-Star roster, the league announced on Saturday afternoon. He’ll join Nick Castellanos and the rest of the Phillies coaching staff at the All-Star Game in Seattle.

Kimbrel, 35, is having an excellent season for the Phillies. He’s 5-1 with a 3.41 ERA and 14 saves. He’s allowed only three earned runs over his last 25 games pitched, good for a 1.08 ERA. He was recently named National League Reliever of the Month for June after posting a 0.69 ERA in 13 appearances.

He signed a one-year, $10 million contract with the Phillies this past offseason.

Kimbrel and Red Sox closer Kenley Jansen, who was named to the American League All-Star team, were rumored as possible All-Star candidates in the beginning of June. Thanks to a new rule in the CBA, the commissioner’s office has the power to elect players to the All-Star Game in honor of a recent accomplishment or milestone reached. Both pitchers reached the 400 save mark this season.
