Phillies news and rumors 10/5: Best of the Phillies’ Wild Card Series celebration

Another day, another unbelievable night at Citizens Bank Park. Aaron Nola dealt from the mound for seven scoreless innings on Wednesday night, while Bryson Stott broke Game 2 of the Philadelphia’s Wild Card Series against the Miami Marlins wide open with a grand slam to complete a 7-1 victory and a series sweep in front of a raucous sellout home crowd of nearly 46,000.

The team was in full control for two games, setting up a NL Division Series rematch with the Atlanta Braves. And with business taken care of for now, these Phillies did what these Phillies do: They partied.

Here are the top moments from Wednesday night’s celebration:

5. Rhys joins in

Sure, Rhys Hoskins might be in Clearwater as he strives for an unlikely — but still possible — World Series return after tearing his ACL in spring training. But what’s a celebration without the Big Fella.

Kyle Schwarber made sure to FaceTime Hoskins from the clubhouse so he could be part of it.

4. Keg stand

The keg was out in the locker room, Alec Bohm was calling for a keg stand.

Brandon Marsh gave it a go. You can be the judge of how well he did.

3. Celebrate with Ranger

Have you ever wanted to get sprayed with beer by Ranger Suárez? Now’s your chance to know what it’s like.

2. Ring the bell

It’s not just the Phillies players who know how to have fun. Team massage therapist Sheree McMullen was celebrating just as hard as Garrett Stubbs, Bohm or Marsh in the clubhouse. Cigar in mouth, she rang the Phillies’ miniature Liberty Bell over and over as players doused her in beer.

1. Play the song

The best part of all came before the players headed down to the clubhouse. As the team gathered by the mound following the final out, the victory song blasted over the speakers as the fans and players sang along. Everyone was dancing on their own — and into the NLDS.
