The Phillies are asking fans attending Wednesday’s 1:05 p.m. game against the Toronto Blue Jays to allow extra travel time to and from the game or consider taking public transit due to planned I-95 road closures.

I-95 northbound from Essington Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia to Academy Road in Northeast Philadelphia will close at approximately 1:00 p.m. for a “short period of time.” The southbound lanes on that same stretch will close at approximately 4:00 p.m. for a “period of time.”

It’s unclear why significant stretches of I-95 are set to close before and after Wednesday’s Phillies game.
