ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Double-A Reading clinched its first postseason berth since 2019 Thursday night. However, some of the players that helped it get there forwent postseason baseball to spend the last few weeks of the 2026 Minor League Season at Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Here’s a rundown of some of the late-season risers in the Phillies organization.
Tristan Garnett, LHP
Left-handed pitcher Tristan Garnett was elevated to Triple-A on Aug. 20 after posting a 5.17 ERA over 32 relief appearances for the Fightins in 2026. Garnett, 28, previously appeared in one game each in 2024 and 2025 for the IronPigs.
Across four relief outings, Garnett has primarily entered low-leverage situations when the team is trailing. He surrendered six runs in 2/3 innings of work in a 16-0 one-hit loss on Sept. 1 to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, but pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings in his three other appearances. His Triple-A ERA currently sits at 16.20.
“Tristan’s given us a different look out of the pen and helped with depth,” IronPigs manager Chris Adamson said. “Because right now we’re in the business of being competitive in finishing games, but also protecting some of those guys that need protection.”
Alex Binelas, 1B
Alex Binelas’ first taste of Lehigh Valley was cut short after three games.
The first baseman went down in the fourth inning on Sept. 3 with a sports hernia and was pulled for Carter Kieboom. He was added to the 7-day injured list the next day before being transferred to the season-ending 60-day injured list on Friday.
The 26-year-old went 2-for-9 in his three games for the IronPigs. He originally signed with the Phillies organization in 2025, and batted .266 across two seasons (184 games) for the Fightins before being elevated on Aug. 31.
“He’d had a hell of a season,” Adamson said of Binelas. “Seeing him go down was really tough. But just being around him for that short period of time, he’s a pro the way he went about his business. Fingers crossed, we can bring him back next year, because he looks good in our uniform and he’s the type of person we want to have around.”
Wuilfredo Antunez, OF
Outfielder Wuilfredo Antunez’s IronPigs debut saw him pinch run for Keaton Anthony in the tenth inning against the WooSox on Tuesday, the same night he was called up. With Antunez on second and Kameron Misner on third, Kieboom dropped a base hit into left field. Misner scored, followed by Antunez beating the throw home by a hair to cross the plate as the winning runner, sealing a 5-4 walk-off win.
Antunez, 24, made his first Lehigh Valley start in left field Thursday night. He went 1-for-4 with a triple and run scored in the 7-4 loss.
Antunez appeared in 15 games for Reading and 17 for High-A Jersey Shore, batting .225 and .279, respectively. He began the 2026 season in the Guardians’ organization, where he batted .196 in 281 plate appearances for Double-A Akron.
Jordan Dissin, C
Catcher Jordan Dissin made his way up to Lehigh Valley in July, but has seen limited playing time behind Payton Henry and Paul McIntosh. The Phillies’ 12th-round selection in 2022 is batting 1-for-18 in five games for the IronPigs.
Dissin, 24, batted .184/.240/.263 in 125 plate appearances for the Fightins in 2026 before he was transferred to Triple-A on July 27.
