The Phillies have announced four additional cases of COVID-19 within the organization in recent days. Spectrum Field is the spring training home of the Philadelphia Phillies. (Brian Michael/Phillies Nation) One additional player and two staff members in Clearwater have tested positive. In addition,one player who was not in Clearwater also tested positive. All other tests came back negative. This brings the total number of positive cases within the organization to 12, including seven players. This comes just days after Jim Salisbury reported that five players and three staff members tested positive for the virus.More positive cases were expected as more test results came in. The Phillies have kept their Clearwater complex closed since June 19 to all members of the organization. It previously was open during the past few weeks to allow players to work out. This comes a day after MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said he is ready to implement a season and resume play with spring training II starting July 1.
