  • I don't want to dump cold water on this very worthy project but I have to take issue with the two bars listed for DC.

I'm a Bucks County native who's have lived in DC for 10 years. I've been to the Cap Lounge more than a few times and haven't seen so much as a Phillies pennant on the walls. If that bar could be considered a baseball bar at all -- its much more about soccer and football -- it's a place to gather before heading down to a Nats game.

Rhino Bar has a rep for being a big Iggles fan hangout it bills itself as a Red Sox hangout.

If I'm missing out one something, somebody please let me know. I'm sick of having bartenders switch the Phils off in the 7th inning because a bunch of Yankees fans came in to watch their game and outnumbered me.

    • So far the only place for phillies games I have found in dc is boundry stone on first and Rhode Island ....jersey guys and huge Eagles fans. Like the
Rhino but have a better time at boundry stone for Eagles games. But they play all the phils games as well.

  • I also live in DC and included those places because I have frequently run into Phillies fans there; however your assessment is spot on. Neither place has Phillies gear on the walls...yet. Part of this project is to get people to start congregating at those places more and cement their status as Phillies bars. If you have better suggestions for DC, please let me know. If not, pick a day and I'll meet you there for a game and some beers and we'll show them benefit of catering to Phillies fans.

  • I used to go to Rhino's all the time as well when I lived down there. Definitely a red sox bar. Amazing sundays for eagles games though.

  • Living in New York, you see a huge variety of bars that taylored towards sports teams outside of the NY area. I have seen Florida Gator, Ohio State, Red Sox, Chicago, North Carolina, etc. Wogie's is the only Philly place. Wogie's does have great cheesestaeks, and was a good spot during the playoffs last year, but the West Village is not the easiest place to get to for many people in other areas. There must be another place in NYC that we can go to for Philly games.

On a side note, I use to live in Queens for a short period and would go to Mets bars in my Phillies hat and/or jersey and Mets fans would try to talk trash or whatever. I must say that their hygene was enough to go search for another place to watch the games, but I have yet to find anywhere close by.

  • Very worthwhile project!! I'll snoop around Frederick, MD (near where I live), and see what I can find. It's difficult with the O's, Nats, Yanks, and Red Sox fans.

  • Right on. Being in Northern California, I'll have to check out Kezar in SF the next time I am down there.

  • I thought of that. I figured you could walk into any bar in Philly and catch a game. I will put up a few though. Any suggestions other than Chickie's?
