Gameday: Phillies (54-63) at Brewers (53-64) – Phillies Nation
2012 Gameday

Gameday: Phillies (54-63) at Brewers (53-64)

Philadelphia Phillies (54-63) at Milwaukee Brewers (53-64)

Cole Hamels (13-6, 2.91) vs. Mike Fiers (6-5, 2.63)

Time: 7:10, Miller Park
TV: CSN
Weather: Partly Cloudy, 70
Media: Twitter and Facebook

The Phillies dropped two straight to the Brewers, and will look to end their three-game losing streak.  The bullpen has been the problem for the Phillies in the last two games, but the Phillies haven’t needed the bullpen in Cole Hamels’ last couple starts.  Hamels has been on a roll recently, throwing two consecutive complete game shutouts.  Last year, Cliff Lee tossed three complete game shutouts, as Cole will try to match that tonight.

The Phillies will face rookie Mike Fiers, who has had a great start to his young career.  Fiers is coming off one of his worst outings, however.  The goal for the Phillies offense is to get to the bullpen.  Like the Phillies, the Brewers have had bullpen issues this year.

Your gameday beer: Yards Love Stout
Victory LagerAnything from Yards is a friend of mine. They just make damn good beers. My favorite is Yards ESA, but this Love Stout is intriguing. It’s a very dark beer with a dark head that has a chocolate and coffee aroma. For you java lovers, this could be gold. For those who enjoy Guinness, it’s right up there in taste and color, no lie. If your in Philly, get down to the Yards brewery on Columbus Blvd and order a grilled cheese with one of these and enjoy. -Pat Gallen

GO PHILLIES!

What is that thing on Dom Brown’s right hand flapping in the breeze. Little leaguers play the field better.

      August 18, 2012 at 8:44 pm

There is a lot of hope out there teejvee – I think that is the only reason people hang on to their beliefs on what he SHOULD be doing.

I for one was pretty convinced after he did not prove himself last year.

They have to take this Fiers out. 5 innings, 100 pitch count, 5 hits, 4 for extra bases and 4 walks. Time to let this cat out

Ill be at Harrahs Philadelphia/chester tomorrow for their super sunday of races.

    So I wont be watching.

But I do need the win.

Other possible are Josh beckett vs yankees (pass)
    henderson Alveraz toronto vs texas

The other available starters are for the Cubs royals rockes mets and astros.
    All bad pitchers.

It is between KK and Wolf.

My isntinct was Wolf because hes left handed and Braun is on a roll.
    and they are at home.

Went with Jeremy Guthrie and his 5.85 ERA for KC vs the White sox.
Guthrie has been great his last two outings.

In other news the mets are leading the Nats 2-0

    Come on Nats.

    The Mets win.

The Nats fans not an empty seat in the house till the final out.

When all the previous years by the 9th inning there were 24 people in the stands. Marlins style.

Cole with 10 k’s – only the second time he’s done that this year. Against the Muts second start of the season he struck out 10.

the Phillies dont even have an 8th or 7th inning guy

    Its the starter and paplebomb.

Brooks. I got a big day tomorrow.

    I dont need this fuss.

And I hate using the closer more than an inning.
But when the other guys are on a little league level you got no choice
