Biddle Has Incredible Outing in Harrisburg, K’s 16

I'm number 1. There’s a reason why the Philly native was the Phillies top pick in the draft just a few seasons ago. Jesse Biddle struck out 16 and brought a perfect game into the seventh inning on Monday night.

His final line: 7 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 16 K. He threw just 104 pitches, 74 for strikes. Lets that line sink in for a second. Forget it feels like Fargo in the northeast right now. That’s incredibly impressive.

Biddle tearing up Double-A hitters at just 21-years-old is a fantastic sign. In the grand scheme, it means little that he nearly threw a no-hitter. But what it does mean is that he’s a rising star in the organization.

Great to see. This organization needs him and/or Morgan to contribute ASAP if the proverbial window is to stay open.

I was at the game last night and he was fantastic. The ump had a big zone early but Biddle was missing bats all night. He was even impressive after he loaded the bases in the 7th and struck out the side to get out of the jam.

I have been impressed with Biddle since the Phillies drafted him and he signed right away. He has progressed nicely through the system seemingly getting better at each stop. This season he got himself in great shape and has avoided the slow starts that plagued him before. Congrats to him for a Cole Hamels like performance and I hope to see him soon at Reading.

    7 IP? 16 Ks?

Holy crap. 21 outs, 16 of them strike outs…that’s exciting.
