John Lannan will miss roughly 6 weeks with a quad strain in his left leg, just above his knee. I spoke with Lannan around 3:30 pm, and he thought that he’d be back much sooner. But the word from Charlie Manuel is that the lefty will be out an extended period.

The Phillies will make a corresponding move to bring a reliever up, then make a move Monday for a starter from Lehigh Valley. They’ll select from Jonathan Pettibone, Ethan Martin, or Tyler Cloyd, Ruben Amaro said today. He also mentioned Adam Morgan, but he’s least likely to be selected as he tossed 100 pitches today.

Domonic Brown is OK; he had a x-rays on his back, which came back negative. Saw him out in the field shagging flies, and he looked fine.

The lineup is in for some sizable changes tonight as well, as Freddy Galvis gets his first career start in the outfield in place of Brown. Ben Revere, who has an OBP of just .242 this season, slides all the way down to #7. Manuel is looking to spark his guys, while Amaro was visibly unhappy with their recent effort.

After zero walks in the Reds series by the team on offense, he called it “ridiculous.” You can say that again. It doesn’t get easier tonight as they’ll deal with Adam Wainwright, who walks no one. Literally. He has zero walks in 22 innings.

LINEUP: Rollins SS, Galvis LF, Utley 2B, Howard 1B, Young 3B, Mayberry RF, Revere CF, Kratz C, Hamels Your Gameday Beer – Sierra Nevada Torpedo

If you like a strong IPA with a bittery taste and aroma to it, this is a must-taste. I’ve been on a huge Sierra kick lately, especially their Pale Ale. But the torpedo is a warhead for the senses. -Pat Gallen

Doesn’t matter if it was fair or foul until the Phillies lose 2-1 or something, but that would require them to actually score a run. So frustrating to watch this team, time and time again, get a runner or to one then GIDP. Makes me want to punch an infant. Figuratively of course.

Remember when the guy in Angels in the outfield is rapping in the locker room? Something like:
    “..Its a big bummer.
No matter who we play, we give the game away
Cause we can’t win, that would be a sin
We even lose the games before they begin…”

Then he is abruptly interrupted by a screaming manager, who happens to be Danny Glover.
Ahhh childhood. I love that movie.

Basically, that is the Phillies right now.

charlie is on the hot seat but the GM forces him to use Nix in a one run game in the 8th with 2 on. ???????

thats on Ruben for having that as your best option

How can you blame adams. The umps took one away from Hamels and the Phillies today. What can you do. This is the type of season its going to be. What a shame.

oh well Revere and Kratz came through

    this team is very bad

That they pitched to rollins there and he struck up sums up our team and the hoarding of our GM the last few years.
