Kyle Kendrick (6-4, 3.56) vs. Jason Marquis (9-2, 3.59)

TIME: 10:10 ET, Petco Park
TV: Comcast SportsNet
Weather: 70, mostly sunny
Media: Facebook and Twitter

Can the Phillies find a new way to lose tonight? After a gem from Cliff Lee through the first eight, they once again blew it in the ninth last night in the opener with the Padres.

They’ll have to hope tonight is different, but if it’s not, you’ve been warned. Kyle Kendrick aims for his seventh win, against Jason Marquis. Somehow (perhaps it has something to do with the huge Petco Park) but Marquis is 9-2 with a 3.59 ERA. Looks like another low scoring game on the horizon.

But again, you’re used to it.

Lineup: Rollins SS, Utley 2B, M Young 3B, Howard 1B, Brown LF, Mayberry RF, Revere CF, Ruiz C, Kendrick P

download (1)Gameday Beer: Sam Adams Light

The same old light beers are tired. Sam Adams Light promises to be different, and is. It’s one of the tastiest light beers available.  It features a crisp and smooth roasted malt finish without any lingering bitterness, leaving you yearning for that next sip. If you’re trying to watch your girlish figure, it does contain 119 calories per beer, which is slightly more than a normal light beer. The 20 calories are likely worth it. – PG

Some early run support by the one and only D Brown…
Although, who here doesn’t believe for a second the Phils will need at least 6 perhaps 7 runs to win this one. We are pretty sure Paps is not making an appearance – please say so Cholly…

Practically forced in totality for excitement in baseball to be sought elsewhere the way the Phils are going, it was either interesting or entertaining to see where Brian Cashman held court on ESPN Radio, NY yesterday to tell good old Alex Rodriguez to shut the “F” up.

Alex is such a moron. His every breath inspires controversy.

Unfortunately, Mr. Cashman doesn’t believe in volume discounts, or he might have told Jon Boy Papelbon to also shut the u up in one felt swoop.

Leaving his own collection of executors or talent to Ruben Amaro, or as he’s affectionately known, RAJ, Jr., the question is if Amaro embarked on a media crusade, which of his own would he tell to shut the “U” up to provide radio entertainment?

Might it be Papelbon, for multiple obvious reasons? Or Teflon Lee, who has the audacity to want to win, and seeks no shelter when given the chance to publicize his desire? Could it be Cole Hamels, who sometimes gives hints that massive frustration is on deck, and HE might vent if a mike or pen is closeby? Could it be Delmon Young even though he hasn’t said anything stupid since Rube rescued him from the ashes since even if it were for no good reason, it would help Rube on the Q factor since DY is so despised?

I’ll shut the “CK” up now and leave the answer to radio wave futures. But not without mention that perhaps only a complete internal bru ha ha is about all that’s left that hasn’t been tried to wake the local ballclub up.
