Dobbs to DL; Cairo Called Up

Greg Dobbs was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a minor tweak to his right calf.  Miguel Cairo was called up from Triple-A.  To make room for Cairo on the 40-man roster, Antonio Bastardo was transferred to the 60-day disabled list.

In other injury news, Brett Myers’ rehab appearance was delayed because of rain.  J.C Romero and Clay Condrey are scheduled to throw tomorrow.

    Is it just me or does it seem like more than coincidence that this occurs at a time allowing the Phils more flexibility on who they put on the postseason roster. This way, Cairo, Dobbs or Bruntlett can all be eligible for the postseason depending on the hothand and the foe they need to match their bench against. I’m not saying that Dobbs isn’t hurt but it sure seems like good fortune……..
