Gameday: Cubs (25-36) vs. Phillies (37-26)

Chicago Cubs (25-36) at Philadelphia Phillies (37-26)

Carlos Zambrano (5-2, 3.98 ERA) vs. Roy Halladay (8-3, 2.56 ERA)

Time: 7:05, Citizens Bank Park
Weather: Cloudy, 84
TV: Comcast SportsNet/MLB Network
Media: Twitter and Facebook

Charlie Manuel is as desperate as a housewife. He’s willing to do whatever to get this team out of its offensive funk. Manuel will put Placido Polanco fifth tonight to shake things up a bit.

I don’t have a problem with that. Nothing else is working, so putting your best bat in a run-producing position can’t hurt. Let’s hope Polly gets a few opportunities to score some of his guys tonight, with Victorino moving up to #2.

Halladay vs. Zambrano, two of the better competitors on the mound tonight. The only difference is, Halladay is as sweet as a nun off the field, while Zambrano’s antics remind you of MIke Tyson a little bit.

Bold prediction: The Phillies score 5 runs tonight. Not asking too much, lets start low and work our way up.

PHILLIES LINEUP:

Rollins SS, Victorino CF, Utley 2B, Howard 1B, Polanco 3B, Ibanez LF, Brown RF, Ruiz C, Halladay P

Your Gameday Beer: Yards Saison

Not too heavy, not too light, just perfect for this beautiful night. I’m like Shakespear, baby! I’m a big fan of Yards Saison, a Belgian-style ale. It’s not as unfilerty (not a word) as Blue Moon or Hoegaarden. I actually think the taste is a notch above those two mainstream beers. It’s a tasty brew from our boys on Delaware ave. – By Pat
