Ruf Suffers Oblique Injury, Roster Spot in Doubt?

Not good news for Darin Ruf. The outfielder suffered an oblique injury during BP and will be evaluated tomorrow, according to CSNPhilly.com.

Ruf was hitting .217 with two homers and seven RBI this spring and had a very good shot at one of the final bench spots. This clearly will change things as the season begins on March 31 in Texas.

I’ve long thought Ruf should be on this roster – and at some point this season he will be. This injury could take time depending on the severity, so we may not see that for a while if the news isn’t positive.
