Injury Updates on Galvis, Adams, Ruf

(AP)

-Jonathan Pettibone will start on Saturday, Ruben Amaro Jr. confirmed today. It had pretty much been a foregone conclusion that he would be the guy after David Buchanan started on Tuesday at Lehigh Valley. There were rumors of a bullpen game being a possibility, but you can take a guess as to why they decided against that.

-Freddy Galvis could be with the Phillies as early as Friday. Last week, Galvis began playing in extended spring games and has since played in two games with single-A Clearwater with everything checking out well.

-Mike Adams will throw again at Lehigh Valley on Saturday. Adams just worked back-to-back games, throwing 25 pitches in the second game. Amaro said he could be back by Monday if all is well. They’ll need his help provided his arm still works as the Phillies bullpen has been terrible overall.

-Remember Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez? Well, he’s throwing baseballs. MAG had a shoulder issue during spring training and is just now getting to about 90 feet. He’ll have to reach 120 feet without issue before they’ll put him on a mound.

-Darin Ruf could begin baseball activities next week as he recovers from an oblique injury.
