Notes: Galvis, Hernandez, Time of Game

-Freddy Galvis is back with the team, Cesar Hernandez heads to Reading to make room. They’ll need Galvis to be the super utility man he’s shown flashes of in the past. If he can be, that will at least give the Phillies a slightly different element off the bench. Look for him to start here and there to give the vets a breather.

-Hernandez is headed to Double-A Reading and not Triple-A Lehigh Valley because of what Ryne Sandberg described as a logjam with the Iron Pigs. While with the R-Fightins, Hernandez will play a lot of third and shortstop so that his utility resume is broadened.

-How’s this for a wild stat: The Phillies are 2nd in the majors in Time of Game at 3 hours, 13 minutes per contest. Only the Dodgers have averaged longer games –  by four minutes. Thursday night’s 2:48 game was the shortest of the season. Until they get the bullpen settled down, expect more long games.
