Notes for tonight:  Coming off a series sweep of the Washington Nationals, the Phillies return home for a three game series against the rarely-seen-in-Philadelphia Cleveland Indians.  Lefty Adam Morgan will make his season debut tonight after being called up from Lehigh Valley to replace the injured Charlie Morton.  (Luis Garcia was optioned in the corresponding move.)  In 15 starts last season, Morgan went 5-7 posting a 4.48 ERA. This year he is sporting a 3.57 ERA over three minor-league starts.  Opposing him on the hill is 2014 Cy Young winner Corey Kluber who is coming off an impressive win on Saturday against Detroit.

Odubel Herrera brings a nine-game hitting streak into tonight’s game. He second in MLB with 22 walks and fifth in on-base percentage at .453.  As a team, the Phillies still have one of the lowest OBPs in baseball at .291 and worst batting averages in the league (.229).  Cleveland is in the upper half of both categories with a .252 average and .312 OBP.

The Phillies are 4-1 all-time against Cleveland in Philadelphia.

There were several transactions throughout the organization on Friday with Morgan’s promotion to the big league roster to take the place of injured Charlie Morton in the starting rotation being the main one.  To make room for Morgan, reliever Luis Garcia was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.  Promoted to Lehigh Valley from Double-A Reading were RHP Severino Gonzalez and RHP Alec Asher.  Last season, Asher pitched in seven games with the big league club (0-6 record, 9.31 ERA) after he was acquired from Texas in the trade for Cole Hamels.

Also, LHP Hoby Milner and RHP Reinier Roibal was moved from Lehigh Valley to Reading.  LHP Joely Rodriguez was moved from Reading to Class A Advanced Clearwater.  Catcher Greg Brodzinski was moved from Reading to extended spring training.  RHP John Richy was promoted from Clearwater to Reading.  Richy was acquired from the Dodgers in the Chase Utley trade last August.

Upcoming Games:
Sat at 7:05 pm – Jerad Eickhoff (1-3) vs. Trevor Bauer (1-0) – Phans Feeding Families Night & Food Drive
Sun at 2:35 pm  – Vincent Velasquez (3-1) vs. Danny Salazar (2-1) – Mother’s Appreciation Day
