Records

  • Lehigh Valley IronPigs: 64-41
  • Reading Fightin’ Phils: 49-57
  • Clearwater Threshers: 53-50
  • Lakewood Blueclaws: 65-40
  • Williamsport Crosscutters: 16-25

Notable Performances

  • No. 4 prospect Adam Haseley continues his recent dominance, as he went 4-5 with two runs scored for Reading on Monday. He backed that up with a 3-3 day on Tuesday.
  • No. 24 prospect Connor Seabold had a nice outing for Reading on Thursday, going seven innings and allowing one run on four hits. While he walked two batters, he struck out nine.
  • No. 23 prospect Cornelius Randolph went 3-3 for Reading on Friday.
  • No. 16 prospect Dylan Cozens continues to mash, going 3-5 with two RBIs and two doubles on Sunday. That was the follow-up after he went 2-4 with two home runs and four RBIs on Saturday. Cozens also went 3-4 with a double, home run and four RBIs on Thursday.
  • No. 6 prospect Mickey Moniak had a feel-good game, going 3-4 with two runs scored, a double and an RBI on Thursday.
  • Although McKenzie Mills was dropped from the Phillies top 30 prospects list on MLB Pipeline, he had a good outing this week going six innings, allowing one earned run on six hits and one walk. He struck out three.
  • Jose Pujols still isn’t a Phillies top 30 prospect, but that didn’t stop him from going 4-5 with two doubles, two RBIs, two runs scored and a home run on Tuesday.
  • No. 30 prospect Nick Maton was 3-4 for Lakewood on Sunday. Maton went 3-4 with two doubles and two RBIs on Friday.
  • No. 20 prospect David Parkinson went six innings, allowing one earned run on six hits, while striking out seven Saturday.

Walding’s Big Day

Mitch Walding has struggled when called up to the Phillies, but that didn’t stop him from having a huge day in Lehigh Valley’s double-header on Saturday. In game one, he was 3-4 with two home runs and six RBIs. In game two he was 2-4 with a home run, double and four RBIs.

The Good

  • Adam Haseley has been on a tear this year, hitting .307 with eight home runs, five triples, 16 doubles, 46 RBIs and 66 runs scored.
  • No. 5 prospect JoJo Romero hit the DL, but he has a 3.80 ERA in 18 starts. He has a WHIP of 1.09 in his last 10 starts.
  • You may have saw Ranger Suarez’s pro debut, but his minor league numbers are great. He has a 2.38 ERA in 15 starts between Double-A Reading and Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
  • No. 9 prospect Enyel De Los Santos has a 2.51 ERA in 18 starts with Lehigh Valley.
  • No. 10 prospect Cole Irvin has a 2.93 ERA in 20 starts with a 1.08 WHIP with Lehigh Valley.
  • No. 14 prospect Luis Garcia has been stellar in the rookie league, hitting .385 with a .440 on-base percentage in 91 at bats.
  • No. 15 prospect Roman Quinn has been great since his return. In 25 games with Lehigh Valley this season, he has a .296 average, 14 runs scored and 13 stolen bases. He was promoted to the major league club Friday evening.
  • No. 16 prospect Dylan Cozens is slashing .251/.351/.545 with 18 home runs and 47 RBIs in 67 games Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
  • David Parkinson has been stellar. He’s 8-1 with a 1.51 ERA in 17 starts for Lakewood. Opponents are hitting .210 against him.
  • No. 22 prospect Kyle Dohy is on a fast-track to the majors. Between Low-A, High-A and Double-A, he has a 1.38 ERA in 36 appearances. He has struck out 89 in 52 innings and opponents are hitting .141 against him. It’s possible he could be on his way to Philadelphia soon as a lefty specialist.
  • No. 25 prospect Dominic Pipkin has a 3.07 ERA in five starts with a .95 WHIP.
  • No. 30 prospect Nick Maton is hitting .276 with six home runs, five triples and 24 doubles.

The Bad

This list has shrunk considerably, with Cornelius Randolph and Mickey Moniak starting to pick it up. Adonis Medina finds himself here with a 4.64 ERA in 17 starts this year. Although this isn’t terrible, it’s not what the Phillies want from their No. 3 prospect and top trade chip. No. 13 prospect Francisco Morales is also struggling – he has a 6.11 ERA and a 1.71 WHIP in seven starts for Williamsport. No. 28 prospect Tom Eshelman has struggled with a 5.97 ERA, a WHIP of 1.78 and an opponent’s batting average of .338 in 20 starts.

Injury Report

The Phillies top two prospects Sixto Sanchez and Alec Bohm are both still on the self. Sanchez is still recovering from elbow inflammation and Bohm has a left leg contusion. JoJo Romero is also still on the disabled list with a sprained oblique.
