“The Baron” is the former Philadelphia Phillies head of community relations, a role in which he served the organization for more than four decades. Larry is also a 2018 inductee to the Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame.

In addition to the Phillies alumni and history work which Larry shares with readers here at Phillies Nation, his “Minor League Report” pieces now also run with us all during the season as well.

Lehigh Valley, International League North Division

**IronPigs (32–35) dropped fifth in a row, 2–1, in Toledo despite holding the Mud Hens to two singles; Toledo stole six bases . . . Game two of the three-game series, 12:05 this afternoon, Tyler Viza (0–6).

Pitching: Starter Drew Anderson was the loser (0–6), 5–1–2–2–1–8, two hit batters . . . Seth McGarry, 1–1–0–0–1–1 . . . John Curtis, .2–0–0–0–2–2 . . . Josh Tols, .1–0–0–0–0–0 . . . Yacksel Rios, 1–0–0–0–0–3 . . . Toledo’s first run came in B4 on a hit batter, two steals and a two-out single. Walk, stolen base, fly ball and sacrifice fly produced a run in B5.

Hitting: Pigs had six hits, two each for C Deivy Grullon and SS Malquin Canelo . . . Run came on a bases-loaded walk in T4.

Reading, Eastern League Eastern Division

**Fightin Phils (39–28) closed out the first half with a 10–2 romp over Akron but fell short of the first half crown because Trenton defeated Richmond. Final standings, Trenton .585, Reading .582 . . . Akron series continues with a 5:30 doubleheader (7-inning games) tonight, Mauricio Llovera (2–3) and TBD.

Pitching: Starter Bailey Falter was winner (5–4), 5–6–2–2–1–3 . . . Lights out relief by Connor Brogdon, 3–0–0–0–1–3 and Jeff Singer, 1–0–0–0–0–3, hit batter.

Hitting: 1B Darick Hall, 3–5, two runs, three RBI, 13th HR, stolen base . . . DH Josh Stephen, 2–4, walk, two doubles, two runs, two RBI . . . C Austin Bossart, 1–3, walk, two runs, three RBI, 2nd HR . . . CF Mickey Moniak, 2–4, walk, two runs, RBI.

Clearwater, Florida State League North Division

**Threshers (1–1; 36–30, 1st half, 2nd place) lost to the Marauders in Bradenton, 8–6; trailed 7–0 after two innings but fell short in comeback attempt . . . Rubber game of the series, 6:30 tonight, Andrew Brown (2–4) . . . Back home Thursday vs. Daytona Tortugas.

Pitching: Starter Alejandro Requena was the loser (5–4), 4–7–8–6–1–5, HR . . . Oscar Marcelino, 2–0–0–0–1–2 . . . Tyler Carr, 2–0–0–0–0–2 . . . Nine strikeouts boosted staff’s total to 678, tops in the FSL.

Hitting: 3B Alec Bohm, 3–4, HR (4), three RBI; 14th multiple-hit games in 39 games at Clearwater; boosted average to .325; overall: Lakewood/Clearwater, .332/.402/.515 with six homers . . . SS Dan Brito, 2–2, walk, two runs, RBI . . . RF Jhailyn Ortiz

Lakewood, South Atlantic League North Division

**BlueClaws (29–41) host West Virginia Power at 7:05 tomorrow night as the second half begins . . . Claws ended first half winning five in a row on a 5–2 trip to Hagerstown and Asheville.

All-Star Game: RHP Kyle Glogoski, Lakewood’s lone representative, was the winning pitcher (1–0–0–0–0–1) when the North scored five times in the B8 for a 6–5 victory. Game was played in Charleston, WV.

Williamsport, New York-Penn League Pinkney Division

**Crosscutters (2–3) lost at home to the State College Spikes, 4–2, in 10 innings . . . Same two teams meet tonight in State College tonight, 7:05 game time.

Pitching: Starter was Leonel Aponte, listed at 6-foot-4, 144 pounds, no decision, 4–2–1–1–1–2, HR . . . Three others followed with Alejandro Made (0–1) getting the loss, 2–2–2–1–0–2.

Hitting: RF Juan Smith had two of Williamsport’s six hits . . . SS Logan Simmons, 1–4, HR (#1), RBI . . . Cutters had 16 strikeouts; Spikes fanned 15 times.

Season opens Monday afternoon, June 24 . . . Phillies again will field two teams, East and West.

**East: hosts Tigers East, 12 noon . . . Manager: Roly deArmas; coaches: Rafael DeLima, Hector Mercado, Charlie Hayes, Kevin Martir.

**West: travels to Tampa to play Yankees East, 12 noon . . . Manager: Milver Reyes; coaches: Chris Heintz, Bruce Billings, Harold Garcia, Robby Wernes.
