Watch: Brett Myers’ son Kolt crushes home run

Kolt Myers — the son of former Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Brett Myers — is already making waves as a sophomore at the varsity level.

Over the weekend, Brett shared a highlight of Kolt hitting a no-doubt-about-it home run in the Florida 7A Regionals, with the news anchor dropping the line “he’s better than his dad”:

Per Kolt’s Twitter account, he’s 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, and is both a right-handed pitcher and third baseman. While this highlight shows his offensive prowess, he says his fastball tops out at 91 mph currently, a staggering mark for someone that’s still in his first half of high school.

As noted in the news clip, Kolt announced his commitment to the University of South Florida in September of 2021. In the meantime, he and the Bartram Trail Bears (St. John’s County, Florida) will host a regional final on Tuesday night.

If you really want to feel old, consider this — if Kolt is part of the high school class of 2024, that would mean he was less than four years old when his dad helped the Phillies to win the World Series in 2008. Life comes at you fast.
