Phillies Nation taking applications for Spring 2019 internship



Are you a college student looking to earn credits this upcoming spring semester while interning for one of Philadelphia’s longest-tenured sports sites? Well, you’re in luck because Phillies Nation is now taking applications for interns for the Spring 2019 semester. This internship will provide you the unique chance to work with Phillies Nation CEO Brian Michael, myself and our talented staff. This internship will allow you on-the-job training while you reach an extremely large audience.

Responsibilities

  • Spring 2019
  • 10 hours per week
    • 2 hours in-person at Phillies Nation HQ (13th & Walnut Sts in Center City)
    • 8 hours at-home
  • Attend 1-3 Phillies home games and local events

Tasks

  • Writing
    • 2 articles posts per week
    • 2 additional features per month
    • 2 features about games attended
    • 1 sponsored post per month (Shibe)
    • Author bio
  • Social media
    • Phillies Nation promotions
    • Sponsored posts
  • Research
    • Online for articles
    • Online and in-person for Philadelphia baseball history
    • Interviews at events
  • Management
    • Coordinate with Brian and Phillies Nation team
    • Reporting on Website and Social Media analytics
    • Editorial Calendar and scheduling
    • Editing process

Skills

  • Writing
    • Short form – news, game recaps
    • Long form – analysis, interviews
    • Social media – engagement, interaction, sales
  • Organization / Time Management
    • Google Docs
    • Calendar software
  • Technology
    • WordPress / HTML / Photo editing
    • Facebook / Twitter / Instagram
    • Research and Analytics tools

All applications should include a resume, cover letter and five pertinent writing samples. Letters of recommendations are not required, but certainly don’t hurt your case. Applications should be submitted on our Internship Application page by Dec. 5.
