Rangers to sign Brad Miller

The Texas Rangers are signing former Phillies utility infielder Brad Miller to a one-year contract, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. The Twitter account MLBDrops was first to report the news.

Miller, 32, returned to the Phillies for a second season in 2021 where he slashed .227/.321/.453 with 20 home runs and 49 RBIs. When Rhys Hoskins went down with a core/abdomen injury in the second half of 2021, Miller took most of the reps at first base.

In his first stint with the Phillies, Miller endeared himself to Phillies fans with his lucky bamboo plant and unreal September 2019 power streak, where he had three multi-home run games in a span of nine days.

He had plenty of memorable moments in two separate stints in Philadelphia. The best one was perhaps his walk-off grand slam against the Nationals in July.
